oh my bleeding eyes and battered civil rights…
From the good peoples of Shakespeare’s Sister:
Consider the Presidential Records Act, referenced by CREW, whose release—as mentioned above—points to the idea that “to fulfill its statutory obligations under the PRA, the White House email system automatically copies all messages created by staff and sends them to the White House Office of Records Management for archiving. It appears that the White House deliberately bypassed the automatic archiving function of its own email system that was designed to ensure compliance with the PRA.” (emphasis mine)
Gosh, you mean the White House has been doing something wrong? deceitful? and…and… illegal? Well gee, color me shocked.
The other, equally stinky, still-emerging, part of this debacle is the fact that the following:
1. George W. Bush
2. Condoleeza Rice
3. Donald Rumsfeld
4. Alberto Gonzales
5. Michael Chertoff
are all on record as saying that they do not use email in their daily professional lives.
Yes, you read that correctly, the President! of the United States! does not use email! Nor does the Secretary of State, the (former) Secretary of Defense, the current Secretary of Homeland Security, or the Attorney General.
So, is it me or is this handbasket falling exponentially faster?

I would like it to fall faster and faster until it burns up in scandalous hearings.
